Christmas Eve started with our tradition of making sugar cookies. We invited our neighbors over to help us and the kids had a great time cutting and frosting cookies.
Later that evening we had our traditional family dinner of chicken, rice, jello, peas or corn and rolls.
When dinner was over we had our ice cream contest. We eat a dish of ice cream and whoever finds the nut in their bowl wins a special present. This year Nicole was our winner, so she got a special new ornament to put on the tree. Each of the kids got a new ornament of their own to place on the tree. Then we read the Chirstmas story from the scriptures. After reading the story the kids got to open the presents that they got for each other. Then Brian and I let them open one present from us. They were new pajamas. We haven't had that tradition before, but it may be one that we continue. The kids were very excited about their new PJ's even if they were a little long.
The next morning we got up and Santa had come. The picture I took of the tree and the gifts turned out a little blurry, so I am not posting it. I guess I still needed to figure out the new camera that Santa gave me. The kids got some fun stuff and they were really excited. Gifts from cousins, Grandmas and Grandpas were all opened and loved by all.
Max opening presents from his cousins.
Jeremy and his new BYU hat from Cohen. Go Cougars!!
Nicole loves her little pillow from her cousin Emma. She carried around and used it all day.
Here is everything after it was opened and placed neatly under the tree. (This only lasted for about 10 minutes before someone wanted to find something or use something and before we knew it everything was scattered once again.)
After opening presents, Brian made pancakes for breakfast. Not just any pancakes, they were snowmen pancakes! The kids thought it was great that their dad made them snowmen for breakfast.
The day after Christmas Brian's parents came to visit, so the kids got to open a few more presents and of course they were excited about that. We barely got to say hello before they were begging to open their presents.
During the time that Dave and Geniel were here we got to go to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We met Brian's aunt, his cousin and her kids and had a great afternoon at the museum. We saw a lot of fun things and the kids really enjoyed themselves, even if it was crowded.
Here is a picture of Grandma and the kids outside the museum as we were leaving.
We had a great Christmas and we were glad that Dave and Geniel got to come and visit. We missed being with my parents, but they gave us a great gift of a webcam and we got Skype accounts, so now we can video call with them and my siblings. It is so fun to be able to see them when we talk to them.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Happy New Year!

Looks like you guys had a great Christmas. Cohen was excited to se another picture of Jeremy- all your kids but for some reason he just has this obsession with Jeremy-so cute. Oh and he proceeded to sing Frosty the snowman when he saw the pictures of your snowman pancakes! Kids are so fun! And Jeremy's hat looks like it fits- yeah!
