On May 16th Max turned 2 years old. I can't believe that our baby is 2!! The time has flown so quickly.
We celebrated by going to McDonald's with some friends for lunch and play on the playground. Max had fun going down the slide and was very excited when his friends gave him presents. He got a Thomas the train flashlight and some fun cars to race. He also got a Thomas the Train blanket and hamper that he thinks should go on his head, but he loves them both!
Daddy was out of town so we saved the family presents until Friday.

Opening presents at McDonald's

Eating lunch. (Really just the french fries. Oh well, it was his birthday, I wasn't going to pester him about eating his chicken.)
At the last minute on Friday night, we invited our neighbors over for homemade pizza and cake and ice cream. Below is a picture of the kids eating their pizza.

The kids are gobbling up their pizza and then they had to wait for the adults to finish so that we could open presents.
Max was very excited for his presents. He had fun opening all of them and was excited to play with them all.

This is a fun farm race from Brent, Dixie, Amanda and Matthew. It is a race between two farm animals and it makes chicken noises and sings a song. It is a lot of fun. Thanks Brent, Dixie and kids!
Grandma and Grandpa Crandall gave him a Thomas the Train scrapbook and he really wanted to play with it. He couldn't quite understand that it was to put pictures in to look at. I wil have to let him help me a little bit as I am making the book.

Next was the card from Grandma and Grandpa Brough. He worked hard to get it open. Their present was a Thomas the Train set. You will see more pictures of it below. He loves it! He hasn't stopped playing it except to eat, swim or sleep.

Time for more presents!

You can't see the bike very well, so I will have to take another picture of it, but this is what he got from us. It is a Fisher Price Trike to Bike. It is a tricycle now, but can convert to a bike. The wheels are fat, so they can balace on it well even when it is a bike. He really likes it, but he hasn't quite figured out the pedals yet.

Here he is after blowing out the candles. The cake is small because I had cupcakes too.

Here are the promised pictures of the train set. He has a great time lining up the cars and pulling them around the track.

Here is is saying whoo -hoo! after he got all of the cars lined up.
There was one more big thing that happened for Max this week: He got a big boy bed!!!! No more crib for Max! He is doing pretty well. He has gotten up a few times after we lay him down, but then he sleeps all night and so far he is napping well in it too. He thinks it is fun.

Trying out his new bed with his Thomas blanket.

Here is a close up shot. Max had a great week celebrating his birthday. Thanks to everyone who sent cards, gave gifts and called. We love you all. Take care!
