NEW THINGS

Over the past week our family has tried many new things, so I thought I would share with you some of those things.

First, is Brian's new car. He no longer drives the white minivan for work. He is now in a sporty blue Jeep Liberty. Although he likes his new ride, we are missing the van for family outings. We hope we might be able to reaquire it for our personal use, but that is still in negotiation. We will let you know if and when that happens.

The second new thing was an attempt at a climbing wall by Jeremy and Nicole. They were invited to a birthday party on the last day of school. It was held at a place called Monkey Bizness. They have rooms with inflatable climbing equipment and they also had a climbing wall. Neither Jeremy or Nicole reached the top, but they both had good attempts at it.

Here is a view of all the stuff they could play on.

Here is Nicole attempting the wall.

This is Jeremy attempting the climb.
The last thing we tried this past week was swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. Brian had some vacation time to use, so he took last Friday off and we went to Galveston. It was pretty windy, but it was warm enough to get into the water and have some fun. The kids had fun playing in the waves and digging in the sand. Below you will see some pictures from our fun day.

Jeremy trying to build a sand castle.

Nicole with her first mold for a castle.

Max filling up his bucket. If he looks kind of sad in this picture it is because he got something in his eye (probably sand) and it was irritating it. Eventually it washed out and he was fine the rest of the time.

Here is Max standing in the hold that Brian dug for him.

Here is Jeremy enjoying the waves. He was nervous at first, but he ended up liking it the most.

Here is Nicole with some waves hitting her. She liked to have me help her jump over the waves. My arms were pretty tired and sore the next day.

Max liked to hang out with his daddy in the water. He really enjoyed it as well.
All in all we had a great week trying out new things. We are looking forward to spending the summer doing fun things. We also look forward to finding other new things that we enjoy doing together.
