WE MADE IT TO CYPRESS, TX!

Below is a picture of our new home in Cypress, TX. We arrived here on Sunday, Oct 1, 2006. It has been just a little over a week now, but boxes are getting unpacked and things are getting put away and we are starting to feel at home. The kids seem to be enjoying school. They have good teachers and they are making friends. There are several kids on the street where we live and we are in a cul-de-sac, so it is nice for them to be able to ride their bikes and run around with the other kids. We have met several of our neighbors, and they are all very friendly. We are liking it so far. We went to church for the first time on Sunday, and everyone was really nice. The kids enjoyed Primary and we look forward to making a lot of friends there also.

Last Friday night we took the kids to a mall in Houston. Below you will see the play area they had. The kids had a great time climbing on and through this castle and other things they had to play on. Max ran around and around the playground. He thought it was great fun.

Sunday, after church and naps, we took a drive over to see the Houston temple. The gates were open so we were able to walk around the grounds and get close to the temple. It is a beautiful building and the grounds are beautiful also. We are greatful that the temple is close enough for us to get there more often than we did in Oklahoma.

After a lot of searching on Saturday, we purchased new furniture for our living room. It was delivered yesterday. Fortunately it was delivered after the big storm blew through.

Right about noon yesterday, a storm blew through here. The power was out at home and at school for a while and the kids sad they even had to get under their tables for a little while. We may have even had a small tornado. If it wasn't a tornado it was very strong straight line winds. We didn't have a lot of damage on our street, pine needles are everywhere and we do have a small tree down in our backyard. But I drove through an area of the neighborhood this morning that was hit much harder. I saw one huge pine tree that was uprooted in someone's front yard and fences down and more. I am just grateful we didn't see that damage on our street.

We bought this new rug to go in the living room too. I haven't decided if this is the configuration that I want for the furniture yet, but this shows you what we bought. The chair you see in the background will be moved somewhere, but we don't know exactly where yet.

We hope that you are all well. We miss all of our friends and family in Oklahoma, but we are looking forward to keeping in touch with them and making new friends here in Cypress. Take care and keep in touch.

I love the rug!

About the placement, why not instead of having the main couch face the TV have the two couches face eachother - could that possibly open it up more?
