Ike's Clean-up Crew

A few days ago we were playing outside with our neighbors and we looked over to see Max and Faith collecting branches and pine needles from the circle in our cul-de-sac. They loaded the stuff on the back of this 4-wheeler and brought it over to us to put in the trash. We were all cracking up because it was too cute!!

Thanks to the trucks below and the people who work them, Houston is slowing getting power back. We had extra people at church yesterday because there are still buildings in our stake that are without power. The power companies have restored power to the places that were easiest to restore and are now going through the tedious job of getting to all the smaller or hard to get to areas. It has been a challenge for a lot of people, but hopefully by the end of this week the majority of the Houston Metro area will again have power.
Brian's office now has power, but below are a couple of pictures of what it looked like last week when Brian went in to get a few things. These generators were running a few phones and computers so they could take orders and field customer service issues. They did not have lights or air conditioning. The people who were there were working hard to keep things going in a difficult situation.

I have emailed the following link to a lot of people, but I thought that I would put it here too. There are many interesting and sad pictures of the devastation that many people experienced from Hurricane Ike. http://www.tpicks.com/pictures%20people%20have%20sent%20me.html
