"I'm Not Going to Survive!!"

Sunday evening we took a family bike ride through our neighborhood. In the course of the ride, Daddy found a hill that he wanted to try to ride up. He made it up and Jeremy and Nicole decided to follow. At the bottom of this hill was a cement trail that drains the water to keep our neighborhood from flooding.

Brian rode his bike back down the hill (which was pretty steep) without a problem. Jeremy followed and did just fine. Next came Nicole. About half way down the hill I knew we were going to have a problem. She lost control of the bike and her front tire was going back and forth. She crashed at the bottom and banged up her head and knee pretty good, as you will see in the pictures below.

She was hysterical. She was crying and screaming that she couldn't ride her bike home and "how is Dad going to get my bike and his home?" At one point she yelled out, "I'm not going to survive!" The mosquitos were eating us alive and we were trying to figure out what to do. There was a nice gentleman who was out walking his dog and he saw what happened. He didn't live very far away, so he offered to take Brian and Nicole to his house and drive them home. So me and the boys rode our bikes home and waited for them to get home so we could get her all cleaned up.

She is doing fine today. She will have bruises for a while, but she will survive!
