After the family reunion families started trickling home. A couple went home on Saturday, one left Sunday and then two more left on Tues. Brian arranged to work in Tulsa for the week after the reunion so this left my family at my mom and dad's house. My niece and nephew who live in Dallas stayed also.
The week turned out to be really hot and there were excessive heat advisories everyday, so we struggeled to find things to do with the kids that didn't cost a lot and allowed them to get out of the house.
One day we went to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. It is not very big, but the kids had fun playing and it really helped break up the day.

Ries's turn
Nicole
Lexi
Max and Me
Each got to take a turn pretending to fly this aircraft.
Used pullies to lift ourselves or others.
One night Ries treated us to some homemade pasta. Ries is quite the cook. Here he is covered in flour after finishing a batch of pasta.
Grandma Crandall got Nicole and Lexi started on counted cross-stitch. They brought their patterns to OK and we actually went and got them some others too. They had fun working on them and Lexi completed two projects while we were there. Nicole completed one and has started a second one.
On the last night we were there, we got to go see one of Brian's customers who just had twin boys. It was fun to see her and her family. We are glad we got to see them.
We had a great vacation and now we are trying to get back into the reality of our lives. I can't believe were are about a month away from school starting. Life is just flying by, but I am trying to enjoy every minute of it! |
