His latest love is BASKETBALL. I think it was sometime last spring that he really started to be interested in the game and wanting to play. He had fun, with his dad, following the Rockets in their short playoff run last season. Over the summer we got a basketball goal and he has enjoyed playing hoops outside with his friends and family.
This fall we decided to sign him up to play in the Fairfield sports basketball league. He was really excited about that. He had his first game last Friday night. His team didn't win, and he was disappointed about that, but he did make a basket and I think that after he got over the loss, he knew that he had enjoyed it. Although he did tell me that he thought it was one of the most intense things he has ever done. I think that he had to exert more effort than he ever has before. It is tiring running up and down the court.
Here are some pictures of his first game:
This is him getting the ball and shooting it to make 2 points.
One of the most exciting things that has happened for Jeremy in the last little while is that he got to go to his first NBA basketball game. While we were visiting family in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving the boys all had the opportunity to go see the Oklahoma City Thunder play the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jeremy was very excited. They were fortunate to get some really good seats about 12 or 13 rows up from the court. Brian helped Jeremy and his cousin Jordan fill out All Star ballots so they could get pennants that said OKC Thunder. Towards the end of the game, some people who were sitting down front left the game and one of the security ladies motioned for Jeremy and Jordan to come down to the front row, which they were more than happy to do. While in that front row the camera man for the jumbo tron focused on them, so they were on the big screen in the arena. Then as the game was coming back from a commercial break the tv camera man told them to cheer loudly because they were going to be on tv. Grandma and Grandpa Brough were able to record the game and we got to see Jeremy and Jordan on tv. We couldn't get a video copy of the clip, so we took some still photos. Below is a picture of them on tv. What great fun!

We love Jeremy very much! He is a great part of our family. I'm glad that he was able to experience this game and that he is getting to learn how to play on a team. He is a good helper and his little brother and sister love him very much, and so do his mom and dad!
