SNOW!!!! . . . IN HOUSTON?

Yes, believe it or not we got some snow in Houston yesterday! For those of you in the North and west who see a lot of snow, this is nothing, but it was pretty exciting for us here, especially the kids. Some of the kids here have never seen snow before. According to a friend of mine it has snowed only 4 times that she can remember in the past 30 years.

It started snowing just shortly before the kids came home from school. By the time they came home it had stopped, but they said that the principal did a fire drill so that they could go out in the snow.

Later last night it snowed a little more and left a faint skiff on top of the cars, but that was gone this morning.

So for a brief moment we had a taste of winter and it felt just a little bit like the Christmases I used to have growing up.

Here is the snow falling.

More falling snow

Here are the boys waiting for the kids to get off of the bus.

The little skiff that stuck briefly to Brian's car. Jeremy was able to make a small snowball, so he was excited about that.

Wow, How exciting. To bad there wasn't enough to build a snowman.

Wish your kids could have enjoyed more snow. Such is life in the southern midwest. Maybe you should move up by us!
